Kofax Ascent Capture

Kofax Ascent Capture is an Advanced Capture software solution.  It provides features in the critical capture (e.g. scanning) and indexing steps of a paperless office solution that are typically not included in the document management software itself.  It provides streamlined, batch oriented, scan and index software.  With Kofax Ascent Capture, you can scan large batches of documents at one time, and work the job of indexing the documents as a production "assembly line" type of operation.  You index documents by looking at images, not paper.  Indexing can be assisted by using OCR (Optical Character Recognition), table lookups,  database lookups, masking, and a variety of other tools.  If you are capturing documents that have key indexing information in predictable locations, such as statements, shipping documents, or the like, Kofax Ascent Capture will streamline the process so that it is virtually automatic.   The links below provide literature (paperless) on Kofax Ascent Capture.  VRS stands for Virtual Rescan.  It is an image enhancement and processing technology that allows software to review images as they are captured, and optimize image quality.  If you have very difficult images, such as goldenrod forms, color paper, old or damaged documents, VRS should be considered in every implementation.
